The whole of Kenya is going through a rebirth. The people are embracing new initiatives and aiming at new horizons in terms of performance and standards of living. Nyeri Development Corporation Limited (NDC) has been incorporated to help Nyeri people improve their performance from where they are to a level of the first world. The vision of NDC is to make Nyeri county a virtual industrial zone. The whole of Nyeri county will become one large sprawling urban center. There will be businesses and industries in every other homestead. When the work of NDC is accomplished, and when one takes a drive from Nyeri to Mukurweini, it is likely one will pass a shoe factory at Muthinga, a toys factory at Kangubiri and at Mukurweini find a marketing hub marketing and selling Nyeri products all over the world. This picture will be repeated everywhere in Nyeri. The mission of NDC is to realize this vision. It will realize this vision by first studying the state of affairs in terms the peoples ability to undertake the work of starting the proposed businesses. NDC will offer business ideas complete with feasibility studies. The main task of NDC will be implementation support. People will be encouraged to start business jointly under enterprise cells. People will be encouraged and guided in starting businesses in their home holdings. A main function of NDC will be to show people how to market and sell their products throughout Kenya, Comesa and the whole world. Managing available resources and creating capital will be necessary because of the number of businesses envisaged. To help create and raise capital for the thousands of startups NDC has registered a wholly owned subsidiary, Capital Resource Management Limited (proposed) for this purpose. Continuous monitoring and evaluation will be done to improve operations and arrest problems early.
NDC will engage entrepreneurs through rallies, seminars and one on one counseling. The entrepreneurs will be taken from registration through induction and implementation guidance to monitoring and evaluation of the businesses they start.
To do all the planned work will require a lot of human effort and resources. NDC will recruit many business advisors on special terms. Initially the advisors will work with minimum compensation. Some of their contribution will be left as equity in the business the advisors
