Public Ralies. NDC will undertake full scale public mobilization. NDC will try and put starting of businesses in everybody’s lips. Both county and central administrations participation will be necessary. The first step will be to identify public speakers who are also development conscious. NDC will start with a plan to have a rally in every location. The next step will be to convene lead teams per village/location. Before NDC offers new ideas to the people NDC will first seek the people to exhaust their own ideas. Their own ideas will be considered in comparison with what NDC will propose for them. Team leaders will be recruited at the village level. It will also be at the village level that the process of starting an enterprise cell will be started. Individuals who want to start businesses on their own will also be recruted at this stage.
Seminars. Seminars will be the second stage of engagement. Seminars will be for team leaders to help them focus more on their projects and the modalities of implementation. NDC will hold seminars to explain to the team leadres the possibilities that exist in running businesses. The seminars will cover the kind of support available from NDC and the benefits in starting the businesses.
Induction. The entrepreneurs who qualify will be taken through thorough training and counseling on the business they have chosen.
Implementation. After the entrepreneurs are qualified to start a business, an entrepreneur will, with the assistance of the implementation team, go through the process of consolidating finance, securing premises, acquisition of equipment and raw materials, marketing and finally financial discipline. The business will be commissioned and the owner will start running their business.
Resource management. This will be done by NDC subsidiary (CRM). The work of CRM is described in detail on a concept paper attached as an appendix.
Monitoring and evaluation. To eliminate the potential for failure, NDC will have a monitoring and evaluation team. Their work will be to continuously monitor the performance of businesses for the purpose of assessing potential problems. Potential problems will be addressed before they arise. This excercise will cover all stakeholders including the public itself, the entrepreneurs, the relevant authorities, the financiers and all other participants in the campaign. All necessary adjustments will be made as the people take up more businesses.
